GREEN LAKE PROPERTY
OWNERS ASSOCIATION The regular meeting of the Green Lake Property Owners Association was called to order by Chairperson Greg Roverud. Members present were T. Broman, J. Duininck, D. Gunderson, R. Jansen, R. Minke, G. Roverud, R. Stehn, K. TerWisscha, and T. Frazee Absent, with call in, were: B. Aamot, and P. Spilseth. There were no guests present for the August regular Board meeting. Motion by D. Gunderson, second by R. Stehn to approve the minutes of the regular 19 July 2008 Board meeting. Motion carried. Motion by R. Stehn, second by R. Jansen to approve the treasurers report for the month of August 2008. Motion carried. CORRESPONDENCE: A letter was received from Roger Ahrenholz about buoys on Green Lake. The Board stated that the Sheriff’s office has written an article in the June Green Lake Breeze stating the Minnesota Rule 6110.1600 which talks about marking of legally designated swimming areas, specifically about individual private area. This news letter was sent to all persons of Green Lake. People are encouraged to contact their representatives in the House/Senate for any changes. A letter was presented to Board members about who is responsible for the water quality ponds in Spicer regarding maintenance, the condition of the ponds, and the status of the electric fish barrier on the outlet to Green Lake. Currently, Mn/DOT is responsible for the maintenance of the ponds, but the responsibility may transfer to the city of Spicer in the future. The full letter will be placed in the September BREEZE. REPORTS:
OLD BUSINESS: Upon discussion, the Board of Directors will change the Annual Meeting from Friday night to Saturday morning in 2009, which shows the Annual Meeting for Saturday, 20 June 2009, at 9:00 a. m. Motion by R. Jansen, second by R. Minke for this change. The Board will serve a full breakfast to all persons attending, with the Annual Meeting scheduled for 10:00 a. m. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS: J. Duininck suggested that the Board contact individuals in their area who are not members of the Green Lake Property Owners Association. The Executive Secretary will give to the Board Members those who are not within membership. Motion by R. Jansen, second by T. Broman that a donation of $1,000.00 be given to the Spicer Ambulance/ First Responders for the purchase of finger-style digital pulse oximeters to be carried by members. Motion carried. Information was presented to the Board of Rep. Al Juhnke and Senator S. Chaudhary coming to Green Lake in the afternoon of Thursday, 28 August 2008 to discuss milfoil/control on the lake. More information will be sent to the Board as to the time/place of meeting. J. Duininck asked the Board of sweeping of streets, especially for the races around Green Lake. The Board stated the county does that four times a year. Organizers of events should contact the Public Works Department in Willmar. G. Roverud informed the Board of boats being invaded for equipment near north shore. Fish locaters, fuel tanks, etc. have been taken. Please check all your water crafts. T. Frazee reminded the Board of articles for the Green Lake Breeze are due on Monday, 25 August 2008 by 9:00 a. m. This will be the last issue of the GL Breeze for the summer of 2008. Meeting Adjourned.
