PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION
REGULAR MEETING
SATURDAY, 19 MAY 2001
GREEN LAKE BIBLE CAMP
The regular
meeting was called to order at 8:00 A. M. by Chairperson Ron Dobbs. Also present were G. Anderson, C. Burmeister,
R. Figenskau, L. Fredrickson, O. Hagen, W. Halvorson, B. Haug, G. OConnor,
S. Peterson,
M. Wacholz, and T. Frazee
Wayne Odell
was present as a guest who wished to address the board regarding fishing concerns of Green
Lake.
The agenda for
the scheduled meeting was approved by motion of
OConnor, seconded by Hagen to approve the agenda as presented.
Motion by Haug, seconded by Hagen to approve the
minutes of the 21 April 2001 meeting. Peterson
stated that the Committee Report of Highway
23 should be corrected to read, ... 50 parts per million ...
Report to be
corrected and minutes were approved.
Motion by Burmeister, seconded by Wacholz to
approve the treasurers report.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Caterpillar |
Spraying for tent worms will begin on
Monday, 21 May at 8:00 A. M., unless rain or wind prohibits this. Spraying should be completed by 11:00 a. m. Stickem will be used to hold the spray to the
leaves.

Discussion was held regarding the seminar
of Eurasian Water Milfoil which was presented by Tiffanie Knapp. Ms. Knapp will have all her inspectors in
Kandiyohi County the weekend of June 8th to the 10th.
We should assist by having volunteers assist at boat access for the weekend.

HIGHWAY
23 |
Steve Peterson passed a sheet out showing
the total phosphorus at Manitoba Street between August 1999 and October 11 of 2000. Also information at Salisbury Beach phosphorus level at 823 with rural areas having a reading of
100 - 200. The total load over the
entire time of record was 2,243 g which is approximately 5 pounds.
MDOT only has
to comply with a No Net Increase
and they wish to use the number of 800 for a base line.
Information
was also presented regarding Total Suspended Solids on Manitoba Street during this same
period of time. The total load over the
entire time of record was approximately 19,488 pounds.
On Salisbury
Beach, during this same time period, the total load was 2,588 pounds.

SEWER
AND WATER |
Mr. Hagen reported the word has started
on the south side of the lake. They will
soon black top Indian Beach Circle. Hook
ups are to be completed by 01 August 2001. On
the North Shore 128 homes are completed with 73 remaining to be connected. The east side has 48 unites connected and
179 remain.
An Open House
will be held at the Water Treatment Plant and Wastewater Treatment plant at a date near
the end of July. The public assessment hearing is tentative scheduled for 18
August.

VARIANCE |
Mr. Peterson reported that two variances
will be discussed at the county meeting on Monday evening.
Both deal with either side setback, road or lake setbacks.

Ms. Haug reported that the web page is up
and running. People continue to use it. She is looking for additional pictures to be
placed on the page along with stories from within the Green Lake area. |
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Dobbs reported on the progress of the
committee regarding the Celebration of the water and sewer being nearly completed. The open house will be held at Hope
Presbyterian Church from 11:00 to 2:00 on Saturday, 14 July 2001. A charge of $50.00 for the use of the gazebo will
be charged. McHales will provide the
food. Frazee will check with Highway 12
rental for 20 tables and 160 chairs for the
day. Ms. Haug showed samples of invitations
for contractors and lake people. Mr.
Dobbs asked that all board members be present during the entire celebration and assist in
cleaning up afterwards. A short program
of introductions will be held about 12:45 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS
Wayne Odell
presented information to the board regarding the fishing regulations of walleyes versus
small mouth bass on the lake. Mr. Dobbs
asked Mr. Odell if he would like a short period of time at the annual meeting on 15 June
2001 to discuss with those present. Mr.
Odell will ask those in attendance to sign a petition to agree or disagree with the DNR
position of small mouth bass within Green Lake.
The nominating
committee suggested names to the board for possible election at the annual meeting. Two representatives from Irving Township,
one from New London Township will need to be replaced.
Mr. Halvorson is eligible to be re-elected and he wishes for that position. Terms, which will expire, are Ollie Hagen, Chuck
Burmeister, and Gerald OConnor.
Motion by Burmeister, seconded by Halvorson to donated $1,000.00 to the Spicer 4th of July
fireworks display. Motion carried.
Discussion was
held of the Annual Meeting at the Green Lake Bible Camp on Friday, 15 June 2001. Tiffanie Knapp will be the guest speaker. Frazee will invite special guests. Committee chairpersons should have a short review
of their committee work the past year.
Mr. Dobbs
spoke for the entire board in thanking Chuck Burmeister, Gerald OConnor, and Ollie
Hagen for their excellent work during their tenure on the Green Lake Board of Directors.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Halvorson to
adjourn. Motion carried.
