NEW BUSINESS
A complete survey was done of Green Lake and two significant stands were found - one in front of Little Melvins and the other by Morgandale Resort. These sites have been marked with yellow buoys and a news release was given to the media. The two sites total approximately two acres together. The Green Lake Property Owners Association have purchased 800 identification cards which will be mailed out to all property owners on the lake along with a letter explaining the water milfoil situation. No Eurasian Watermilfoil was found in Calhoun or Nest Lake as of this meeting. A resurvey and chemical treatment of Eurasian watermilfoil will be done later in the summer when water temperatures are lower when the plants are more susceptible to treatment. An exotic species inspector will be at the Spicer access this Sunday to talk to boat owners about Eurasian watermilfoil and exotics, and how to clean their boat/trailer. Many questions were asked from closing the boat accesses for the duration of the year, to eradication and treatment, to how this weed is spread. The Board stated they wanted to work with the DNR and not against them. Mr. Gilbertson stated that at the present time the "best we can do is to stop the spread." The DNR plans to hold an educational meeting for area lake residents this fall or winter. Chairperson Dobbs appointed a committee to formulate a letter to be mailed to all property owners along with the identification card. Those appointed are: Wendell Halvorson, Marlin Wacholz, Steve Peterson, Ron Dobbs, and Terry Frazee. Motion by OConnor and second by Burmeister to adjourn. Previous Board Minutes:
